[ARCHIVED] TRASH PICKUP WILL BE DELAYED DUE TO WEATHER

Republic Services, the city's waste collection contractor, has advised that pickup will be delayed. Currently Wednesday pickup is planned for Saturday. Below is the information as received that details the current collection plan from Republic. "Republic Services will be suspending residential and commercial service on Tuesday, February 16th due to inclement weather. We will only be servicing a limited number of hospitals that cannot operate without service. Based on current weather trends, we expect to be impacted on Wednesday, February 17th as well. We are continuously monitoring the situation and are projecting to resume service on Thursday, February 18th. Weather permitting, we will begin collection of solid waste on Thursday for Monday and Tuesday service days, Friday for Thursday and Friday. Saturday we will service all customers that have 1x per week service. This plan is subject to change due to rapidly changing weather conditions. Servicing all Fort Worth area cities in a compressed timeframe requires us to suspend all brush, bulk, and residential recycling services until Monday, February 22nd. Thank you for your patience and assistance as we all deal with this historical winter storm and protect both our customers and employees. "
