Starting
this week, Haslet residents may notice an increase in vehicular traffic in the
area due to BNSF’s Network Operating Center staff being relocated to a facility at 14900 John Day Road while their current facility is being
renovated. BNSF anticipates there will be a noticeable increase in vehicular
traffic moving to and from the new facility, particularly between the timeframes
of 5:30 a.m. to 6:45 a.m.; 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., and 4:45 pm to 5:30 p.m.
In an effort
to minimize commuter traffic impacts, BNSF has contacted Haslet city leaders,
the Northwest ISD, and emergency responders about the increase in vehicle
traffic through the area. Additionally, BNSF employees have been directed to
use travel options - from the north, John Day Rd. from Hwy 114 and from the
south, Main St. (or Keller Haslet Rd.) from Hwy 156. We are also encouraging
carpooling with fellow employees to the extent practical.
BNSF
anticipates the renovation of the NOC will be completed prior to October 1, 2017.
