Municipal Court


The mission of the Haslet Municipal Court is to administer fair and impartial justice as the judicial branch of the Haslet municipal government. The court strives to provide prompt, courteous, and thorough service while maintaining ethical processing, promoting confidence, and efficiency. All matters within the court are processed in the most efficient and timely manner possible.

General Information
The Municipal Court of the City of Haslet is a court of record and has original and exclusive jurisdiction over violations of city ordinances and, within the city limits, has concurrent jurisdiction with justice of the peace courts over Class C misdemeanor criminal cases where the punishment upon conviction is by fine only.

When city ordinances relating to fire safety, zoning, public health, or sanitation are violated, fines of up to $2,000 per offense, per day may be charged, when authorized by the governing body of the city. The municipal judge may issue search or arrest warrants. This court does not have jurisdiction in most civil cases but does have limited civil jurisdiction in cases which involve owners of dangerous dogs and also cases involving animal cruelty.
