HASLET PUBLIC LIBRARY JOINS NORTH TEXAS LIBRARY CONSORTIUM
The Haslet Public Library has joined the North Texas Library Consortium (NTLC) and now offers an expanded collection for Haslet library card holders. The NTLC is a network of libraries that set out in 2009 to share resources with each other in the hopes of bringing a higher level of service to their local communities. Haslet card holders have access to any NTLC library just like being at Haslet's library. This means that any Haslet library card will work at any member library of the consortium. The additional libraries are Alvarado Public Library, Aubrey Area Library, Bridgeport Public Library, Decatur Public Library, Justin Community Library, Krum Public Library, Lake Dallas Public Library, North Richland Hills Library, Ponder Public Library, Roanoke Public Library, Saginaw Public Library, and Westworth Village Library. Joining the NTLC required an upgrade of the system used for the Haslet Public Library's catalog to enable patrons the ability search through all of the NTLC's available resources. This upgrade is complete and the new online catalog is up and running.
There is also two days-a-week delivery and pick up service for Haslet's patrons with no cost to them--granting access to 238 other libraries in the state of Texas including Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and Harris County Public Libraries as well as the Texas State University System, Texas Tech, Texas A & M System, University of Texas System, Southern Methodist University and Oklahoma State.
Patrons with a Haslet Public Library Card also have free access to the Maker Spot located at the North Richland Hills Library. The Maker Spot has equipment to use for 3D Printing, Soft Crafts (Quilting and Sewing), Audio/Visual Production & Editing, Electronics and Robotics, other Miscellaneous Equipment and a Collaborative Area.
