Individuals 14 years of age or older are welcome to serve as volunteers at the Haslet Public Library for such purposes as:
Assisting the library staff with routine tasks.
Earning student community service hours or merit badges.
Earning court-ordered community service hours.
The Library Volunteer Policy document explains the scope of work volunteers can expect to be asked to do and includes two applications. Interested individuals need to submit the appropriate application before volunteering. Volunteers are typically scheduled for 1-2 hours weekly. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis. Students will coordinate volunteer tasks with the Youth Librarian. Adults 18 and over will coordinate volunteer tasks with the Adult Librarian.
Fill out the application and bring it to the library, or contact a librarian for more information.
Once monthly, typically on the third Saturday, we have a "big event", a program on any variety of topics (arts and crafts, health and wellness, finance, employment, genealogy, etc.) for any and all ages. Occasionally, a patron has asked to present a program for us. If you are interested in being considered as a presenter for a Saturday Big Event, submit a form online and we'll get back with you.
